Description
Students will cut & strip wire, crimp on pins and sockets, and assemble connectors just like those used on Caterpillar heavy machinery across the world.
Recommended age range: Grades 4-12
Approximate activity duration: 1 hour
Each kit contains materials for 30 students.
In this activity, students prepare wiring materials and components typically used on heavy equipment for assembly into a keychain or bracelet loop. The same operations performed in this activity are used to create wiring harnesses for some of the largest offroad vehicles in the world.
